Step 1: Get ready to register

First, please note that you can work your way through Steps 1-5 to have an idea of what you’ll need to do, even if you are not yet ready to register formally (e.g., not officially admitted yet, or registration has not yet opened).

Before you can officially register, you will need to be officially admitted to Acadia, have received an Acadia student ID number, and have paid your deposit.  If you have any questions about your admission status, contact the Admissions Office

After completing those steps, if you have not already done so, you will also need to set up an account on Acadia Central (note: Acadia Central is different from My Acadia or Acadia4u).  To set up your account on Acadia Central, go here, click on Login (top right of the page), and enter the last six digits of your Acadia ID number, followed by the first letter of your last name, as your Username. The first time you log in, click on Forgot Password to get a pre-set password e-mailed to the e-mail account Acadia has on file for you.  You can retrieve the password from that account.  Next time, after logging in, you can change the password to something that you will remember easily.  If you run into problems, consult this page.  If you still have problems logging in, call 902-585-1222 for assistance.

Before you start, click here to get explanations of some terms we’ll be using throughout the process (e.g., what is a “3 h course”?).

It is also helpful to understand how Acadia’s system of course numbering works (e.g., what does “Psyc 1013 A1” actually indicate?).  Click here to break the code!
