Preparing for the Professions

If you have a particular profession in mind (e.g., lawyer, doctor, speech language pathologist), the information available here will give you some tips as to what courses you might need to take to best prepare for those professions.  That might affect the introductory-level electives you want to take. Be sure to do your homework.  Go to the websites of universities that offer training in those areas, or the websites of the professional organization or registering body in each area, and see what courses they recommend. Also, talk to someone in the profession, if you can, and see what courses they found particularly valuable.
